The backing vocals from the fade out section in 'Holidays' on Smile Sessions was reused in 'Wind Chimes' on Smiley Smile. "Whisperin' winds send my wind chimes a tinklin" Not sure if it counts or not but they also released a bonus track on the remastered version of Smiley Smile which was was an alternate take they had done of 'Heroes and Villains'.

The Smiley Kids, however, true to their name, are more happy-go-lucky, blasting through a series of hyperactive skate-punk anthems on Don't Get Bored, with the occasional ska-punk number tossed in for good measure. Even if the fastest sections sometimes threaten to fall apart, it's a testament to how well the group has mastered the style that their music contains no hint of the sunny, wide-eyed naïveté 6/

The music is decent on this CD, I'll say. The Smiley Kids obviously had a LOT of fun when recording this album, because it really comes across in the sound. I feel that the songs get a little bit repetitive by the time you hit track eleven or so, even though every song has its own individual sound.

They're sound is along the lines of Screeching Weasel and Operation Ivy. They toured with Switchfoot on the Pants Across America Tour. They released one full-length album, Don't Get Bored () and a fifteen song album entitled Still Smilin' After All These Years. The Smiley Kids were most well known for their positive and uplifting lyrics.
